On 30 November 2016, GELEX brand – Vietnam Electrical Equipment Corporation with two brands of members, namely CADIVI and THIBIDI, has been named honorably to become 3 excellent brands out of 9 national brands representing the fields of Electricity- Electronics – Information Technology – Telecommunications in 2016.
The Vietnam National Brand was approved in 2003 by the Government to support the enterprises in developing Vietnamese brands of products, goods, services, strengthening position and added value in each industry.The selection of national brands has been conducted every 2 years in accordance with the criteria and values of the program, including Quality – Innovation, Creativity – Leading Ability.
Verifying from more than 500 registration applications of qualified enterprises, through 4 screening steps initiated by the departments, the State agencies and Government, a list of selected 88 national brands is released, showing the 2016 outstanding brands of Vietnam in all key fields such as mechanics, machinery, electricity, handicrafts, pharmaceuticals, plastics, rubber, finance, banking, food, etc. Accordingly, GELEX, CADIVI and THIBIDI have become officially 3 out of 9 brands to represent for Electricity- Electronics Industry.

The national brand award is a proud recognition for the ongoing efforts of GELEX and its members. Names like CADIVI power cables, THIBIDI electric transformers, HEM electric motors are popular brands with Vietnamese households. GELEX electrical equipment is always accompanied with the local leading position of the industry with millions of devices which have been annually installed and exported to foreign markets. Revenue hit USD 500 million in 2015 and growth rate has been maintained in double digits/year.
